Mumbai University PhD programmes are a preference among  PhD aspirants and individuals with an affinity towards research and study in interdisciplinary specializations. The university is also preferred by budding researchers on account of the complete theoretical as well as practical guidance offered  during the course.Mumbai University PhD admission is based on PET (Entrance Test). Qualified candidates of GATE/SET/NET/JRF examinations are exempted from appearing for the exam.

3.Faculty of Law
4.Faculty of Science
5.Faculty of Technology

Mumbai University PhD Subjects:
Economics ,Sociology, Chemical Technology, Statistics, Civics and Politics, Psychology, Law, English, Sanskrit, Mathematics, Marathi, Geography, Gujarati, Hindi, Physics, Education, Computer Science, Kannada, Commerce, Life Science, Sindhi, Urdu, Philosophy, German, Russian, Arabic, French.

Mumbai University PhD Eligibility Criteria:


Master's or M.Phil degree in relevant discipline of Mumbai University or any other recognized university in India or equivalent qualification.

Mumbai University PhD Selection Procedure:


Selection procedure consists of entrance exam conducted by Mumbai University (PET).

Candidates fulfilling one of the following criteria shall be exempted from Ph.D. entrance test (PET).

a) Qualified in GATE / SET / NET / (JRF) Examination / teacher fellowship holder of the apex bodies as CSIR / UGC / ICAR / ICMR / DBT only

Syllabus and Pattern of Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET)

Syllabus:-

Mumbai University PhD syllabus shall consist of  various topics included in the compulsory / core papers at Post

Graduate Degree level in the respective subjects of University of Mumbai.

b) Pattern of Question Paper:-

The question paper will consist of three types of questions

Objective - forty (40)marks,
Short answers - thirty (30) marks 
Long answers - thirty (30) marks.

c)Standard of Passing:- Candidates securing fifty (50) or more marks in entrance test will be declared as successful and eligible to apply for admission process.
