Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is a common entrance test directed for admission to Master of Design (M.Des.) programmes at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Kanpur, and PhD programmes in Design at some Institutes. CEED 2015 will be conducted by Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

The main objective of CEED is to assess one';s aptitude for design involving visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity and communication skills. Qualifying in CEED alone does not guarantee admission to any of the above programmes. Admitting Institutes may conduct further tests and/or interviews for the final selection/admission in addition to the weightage given to the CEED score.

Master of Design Programmes:
IISc Bangalore - M.Des. in Product Design and Engineering
IIT Bombay - M.Des. in (i) Industrial Design, (ii) Visual Communication, (iii) Animation, (iv) Interaction Design, (v) Mobility and Vehicle Design.
IIT Delhi: M.Des. in Industrial Design
IIT Guwahati: M.Des. in Design
IIT Kanpur: M.Des. in Industrial Design

GATE qualified candidates will also be considered for admission to these programmes.

(b) Ph.D Programmes in Design (IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay)

Important Dates for CEED 2015 Examination:-


Start date for online application: August 04, 2014 (Monday)
Last date for online application: September 01, 2014 (Monday)
Choice of Test center: October 15, 2014 (Wednesday) to October 30, 2014 (Thursday)
CEED 2015 Admit card will be available for download: November 07, 2014 (Friday) to December 06, 2014 (Saturday)
Date of Examination:- December 07, 2014 (Sunday) [10:00 am to 01:00 pm]
CEED 2015 result: January 15, 2014 (Thursday) [05:00 pm]
Scorecards will be available for download from January 22, 2015 (Thursday)

CEED 2015 will be conducted on December 07, 2014 (Sunday)

Time: 10:00 am to 01:00 pm

Part A will be conducted from 10:00 am to 11:00 am
Part B between 11:00 am and 01:00 pm.

CEED 2015 Eligibility:-

Individuals who have completed or are expected to complete any of the following programs by July 2015 are eligible to apply:

a)Bachelor';s degree in Engineering/Architecture/Design/Interior Design or equivalent (4 years programme after 10+2)
b)Professional Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT or equivalent of 4 years programme after 10+2)
c) B.F.A. (4 year professional programme, after 10+2)
d) G.D. Art (5 year programme after 10th) with one year post qualification professional experience
e) Master';s degree in Arts/ Science/ Computer Applications (2 year programme after 10+2+3)

How to apply for CEED 2015:-


Apply online on http://www.gate.iitb.ac.in/ceed2015/ for CEED 2015.  Online applications for this exam will be accepted from August 04, 2014 (Monday) to September 01, 2014 (Monday).

CEED 2015 online application procedure consists of three steps.

STEP 01: Registration

• REGISTER online to fill application form. Do so by clicking the Apply online link on CEED website.
• During registration provide your valid email ID and active mobile number.
• On submission of your registration page you will receive an  email validating registration and a password
• Click on the emailed link, you will be provided with a login screen, where you have to enter your email address as the user id and the password sent through SMS.
• On successful login you will be provided with an application form to fill in and an application number (C15 followed by a 4
digit number; eg., C159876).
• Note down your application number and proceed to Step II: payment of fees.

STEP 02: Payment of application fee through SBI Collect Facility using internet banking, credit card or debit card.

•Use the SBI collect link www.onlinesbi.com.
•Follow the instructions for payments.
•Make the payment. You have to use your CEED application number as a reference during the payment.
•Once the payment is successful, note down the SBI collect reference number and the bank reference number.
•Once the payment is successful, proceed to complete the CEED 2015 Online Application Form.

STEP 03: Complete CEED 2015 online application process

• Login using your registered e-mail ID and password.
• Enter your personal details.
• Chose an Exam city.
• Enter payment details.
• Upload files containing photograph and signature.
• You can "SAVE" the application form anytime and logout and login again.
•  Check through the information you have provided carefully before you click the "SUBMIT" button.
• On submission of your CEED 2015 online application form you will receive a confirmation page.

Application Fee for CEED 2015:-

 •Rs. 2,000/– for male (GN and OBC) candidates
•Rs. 1,000/– for male (SC/ST/PwD) candidates
•Rs. 1,000/– for all female candidates.

CEED Admit Cards:-

Admit cards will be available for download on CEED official website from November 07,2014 (Friday) to December 06, 2014 (Saturday).Please take a clear printout (in color) of the admit card before coming to the examination centre.

Bengaluru, Bhopal, Calicut, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram.

CEED 2015 Paper Pattern:-


•Language: English.
•Sections: Part A and Part B.
•Part A contains multiple choice (MCQ) type questions.
•Part B consists of design and hand drawing type questions.
•Answers to Part A have to be given as one of the choices in the computer itself.
•Answers to Part B have to be given in the answer book provided by the invigilator. These answer books will be collected for manual correction at the end of the examination.
•The examination will consist of two parts, Part A and Part B. (all questions of both parts are to be attempted).

CEED 2015 Selection procedure:-

Part A will be used as a screening test. If N is the total number of seats available in all the participating institutes, then approximately the top 10x N candidates will be shortlisted from Part A. Part B will be evaluated only for the candidates who get shortlisted from Part A. ONLY the scores from Part B will be used for preparing the list of qualified candidates (merit list) in CEED.

CEED Preparation:-

There is no specific textbook or guide recommended for CEED 2015 preparation. However candidates are advised to hone their drawing, rendering and visualization skills.
Candidates are also requested to refer to  previous year';s question papers available on CEED website.
