Gujarat SET 2014 Exam Dates | Notification | Pattern

Gujarat State Eligibility Test or GSET is a state government conducted lecturer eligibility test. Administered by the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda this test is a pre-requisite for aspirants wishing to teach as lecturers in colleges and universities in the state. SET issues qualifying certificates to candidates who clear the exam. These candidates can then apply for the post of lecturer in colleges and universities in the state.

 




Important Dates for Gujarat SET 2014:


· Starting of Fee Collection : 20 - 05 - 2014.
Last day for Computerised Bank Challan Generation : 02 - 07 - 2014(till - morning 08.00 hrs).
Last day for Fee Collection : 02 - 07 - 2014.
Last Day for Online Application Submission : 05 - 07 - 2014 (till – 18 hours).
Last Day for receiving the documents at Gujarat SET office, Vadodara: 10 - 07 - 2014.
Gujarat SET Examination Date : 12 - 10 - 2014

Eligibility for Gujarat SET 2014:-

· Qualification: Candidates who have completed or are presently studying in the final year of a UGC specified masters degree are eligible to apply.

· Aggregate: Minimum 55 percent marks without rounding off (general category candidates).

· Aggregate relaxation: Minimum 50 percent marks without rounding off (SC/ST/General category candidates).

· Candidates whose qualifying results have been delayed are also eligible to apply for SET. These candidates must obtain their result within two years from the date of examination. If they fail to do so their result will be treated as disqualified.

· PhD degree holders with masters level examination has been completed before a stipulated date will be given relaxation of five percent in aggregate.

· Age Limit: There is no upper age limit.

Exemption:-

Exemption from SET will be as per the decision of the UGC and the state government.

· NET and SET remains the minimum eligibility criteria.

· However candidates with a  UGC approved PhD degree from a recognized university are exempt.

· Qualified candidates who have cleared state eligibility test held prior to 1st June, 2014 are exempt from appearing for this exam.

How to apply for Gujarat SET 2014:-

Before applying online candidates are requested to keep the following documents in hand.

· Scanned passport sized photograph in JPEG format (not more than 100 KB).

· Copy of Bank Challan (Fee receipt)

· Personal and Educational details

STEPS for online application

· STEP 1: Log on to GSET official website (http://www.gujaratset.ac.in)

· STEP 2: Click on the link “Online registration for Gujarat SET”

· STEP 3: Fill in details in the Gujarat SET online application form.

· STEP 4:  Payment of application Fee.

· STEP 5:  Click on the browse button to upload recent passport sized photograph.

· STEP 6: After filling in details carefully check through the form.

· STEP 7: Click the Submit button to complete registration.

· STEP 8: Note Registration Number displayed on screen.

· STEP 9: Click Next to take a print out of the completed online application form

· STEP 10: Application form along with the following list of documents need to be submitted to GSET Agency Office.

Documents to be submitted:-

1.  Printed copy of the Online application form. (One copy)

2. Copy of Bank Challan (GSET copy)

3. Photocopy of Caste certificate in case of SC/ST/OBC .(Non creamy layer candidates)

4. Photocopy of non creamy layer certificate in case of OBC candidates.

5. Photocopy of Medical certificate issued by competent authority issued in case of physically or visually challenged candidates.

6. Photocopy in case of Gazette copy (in case of change in name) or marriage certificate (in case of change in maiden name)

The document should be duly attested by Head of University Department/Principal of College/ Class-1 Gazette Officer.

Gujarat SET Application Fee:-

The Gujarat SET application fee can be paid through any one of the following means

a)  Bank Challan which has to be submitted at any Corporation Bank branch.

b)  Money order

c)   IPO

d)   Demand draft
