Eligibility for Indian Navy 10 +2 CADET (B Tech) Entry Scheme (Permanent Commission) Recruitment 2014

Educational qualification: 10+2 (Class 12) from recognized board or university with an aggregate of 70 percent marks in subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and 50 marks in English (either in class XI or XII).

Age: Applicants aged between 17 and 19 and half years of age are eligible to apply. [02 July 1995 and 01 Jan 1998] (both days inclusive)

Physical Standards

a)Height and Weight: Minimum 157 cms with co-related weight as per age.

b)Eyesight:
Distant vision- 6/6 6/9 correctable upto 6/6  and 6/6 with glasses.
Should not be color or night blind.

Training: Training is scheduled to start in December 2014. Selected candidates will be inducted as cadets for the four year B.Tech course in Electronics and Communication or Mechanical Engineering at INA Ezhimala, Kerala.Candidates will be alloted Executive or Engineering branch including naval architecture specialization of electrical branch. On the completion of the course candidates will be awarded a B.Tech degree by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D Recruitment 2014 Notification, Application Procedure

Applications are invited from interested and eligible candidates for All India Open Examination to be conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for recruitment to Stenographer Grade 'C' and Grade 'D' vacancies. Candidates wishing to apply for required to submit their application on or before June 27, 2014 (Friday). The All India examination will be conducted on September 14, 2014. SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D Exam Pattern:-

Sections
•Part I General Intelligence & Reasoning ( 50 questions) - 50 marks
•Part II General Awareness ( 50 questions ) - 50 marks
•Part III English Language and Comprehension (100 questions) - 100 marks

Duration: Two hours.

All questions except in part III will be set in both english and hindi.
Negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.

Typing test:-

a) Candidates with the required qualifying marks in the written test will be called by the commission for the skill test.
b) The commission may prescribe qualifying marks for each part of the written test.
c) The skill test will be of qualifying nature and the commission will fix standards for qualification for different category of candidates.
d) The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English / Hindi at the speed of 100 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade C and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade D. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer only .

The transcription time is as follows:-

For Stenographer Grade D: 50 minutes ( English )
For Stenographer Grade C: 40 minutes ( English )

SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D Exam Syllabus:-

General Intelligence & Reasoning:-

It would include questions of both verbal and non- verbal type. The test will include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non -verbal series etc. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate's abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions.

General Awareness: Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate's general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

English Language & Comprehension: In addition to the testing of candidates' understanding of the English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc. his/her writing ability, would also be tested.
