Academic aptitude:
The candidate who wants to apply for Operator cum Technician (Trainee) (OCT) post, should be a 10th class pass out and must also have a full time three year diploma in the related field of the job.


If you want to apply for Attendant cum Technician (Trainee) (ACT) post, then you must be a 10th class pass out with a full time ITI in related field. 


Age:-

The candidate should be of atleast 18 years of age or 28 years old at the maximum. 

Application Procedure:

1. Before you start your application procedure make sure you have a scanned copy of your passport size photograph, valid e-mail ID and a scanned copy of your signature.

2. To register yourself for the exam visit www.sail.co.in

3.  On the site click on “Careers”.

4.  On the left hand side of the “Careers” page, you will “current openings” section. Click on it.

5.  Under it there will be “RSP” option which will show you all the openings in Rourkela branch of SAIL. Under it, all the OCT and ACT openings are displayed. Choose the one for which you want to apply.

6.  Fill in all the required details in the form.

7.  Once the form is successfully submitted, you will get a system generated that has your unique registration number along with all the other important details.

8.  Take its print out.



Exam fee:


The exam fee for the OCT exam for the general and OBC candidates is Rs. 250. For the SC/ST candidates, the exam fee is Rs.50. This fee should be paid at RSP campus branch of SBI and in the account Power Jyoti account No. 31955226331.


The exam fee for ACT is Rs.150 (for general and OBC) candidates. The SC/ST candidate will have to pay Rs. 50. Both the types of candidates will have to pay a bank fee of Rs.20.

Madras University offers B.Ed course through distance mode. The Department of Education specializes in Bachelors of education, ciriculum developement ,work education and special education.

Eligibility: Aspirants seeking admission to University of Madras B.Ed course through distance education mode should posses graduate degree in any discipline (Arts/Commerce/Science) with an aggregate of 50 percent either from Madras university or any recognized university in India.

There are two kinds of registration for the PhD programmes offered by Madras University

a) Full time Scholar: (with or without stipend or fellowship)
b) Part time Scholar:(teacher, non-teacher, internal or external)

Candidates belonging to any of the above categories can register at University Departments, affiliated colleges, research institutes, Research and Developement Centers/Laboratories under the regulations of the university.

Eligibility: Masters degree with 55 percent marks in qualifying examination. For SC/ST candidates who have completed their PG degree before 1991 the minimum aggregate is 50 percent.

Madras University PhD Admission Admission Procedure:


Admission for Phd Programme can be done four time a year in January,April, July, and October. Applications can be obtained from university on payment of prescribed application fee. Application form for admission is issued free of cost on production of  two copies of community certificates issued by concerned authority and attested by a gazette officer.Candidates should submit their applications or on before the first working day of quarter January,April, July, and October.

Admission to PhD programme shall be completed in the first month of each session easily.However PhD registration can be done throughout the year.

Duration of Research:-

In case of full time candidates: A full time scholar enrolled for PhD programme should work continously for a minimum period of three years in department under superior after provisional registration and before submission of thesis.

In case of part time candidates: A part time scholar enrolled for PhD programme (both internal and external) should work for a minimum period of four years after provisional registration and before submission of thesis.

Exemption: Exemption of one year is permissible for candidates who posses M.Phil/M.Phil on inter-disciplinary basis or M.Litt in relevant subject or Master degree in faculties of Law.
