AMIE 2014 Exam Dates | Notification | Pattern

Professional certification is important for candidates pursuing specialized courses. This holds true even for the profession of engineers. The Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AMIE) is a professional certification for engineers in India. Engineering aspirants seeking AMIE membership are required to clear both section A that involves Project Work and Laboratory experiments and Section B of the exam. This exam is held twice a year in the month of June and December and is conducted in centers all over the country as well as in centers abroad. The Ministry of Human Resource Development considers the qualification equivalent to an engineering degree.


Important date for AMIE 2014 (AMIE Exam date sheet):


The AMIE Winter 2014 Examinations of Sections 'A' and 'B' shall be conducted at 67 examination centers in India and abroad between December 06 and December 12, 2014. 

The dates December 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11 and 12 will be referred to as Day 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 respectively.

Applications submitted during the period mentioned below will be considered for Winter 2014 examinations

•Candidates not appeared in Summer 2014 Examinations : August 20, 2014 to September 21, 2014.
•Candidates appeared in Summer 2014 Examinations : September 21, 2014 to October 19, 2014.

Please note the minimum duration for clearing both sections is 6 years.  Candidates with engineering qualification from a polytechnic are exempted from certain papers in Section A. 



Eligibility:-

Qualification- The eligibility criteria or AMIE is as follows

a. Three polytechnic diploma or equivalent in any branch of engineering.

b. Class 12/HSC or PDC with subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

• Aggregate- Minimum 45 percent marks

STEP by STEP procedure for applying for AMIE Exam 



STEP 01- Log on to AMIE official website.
STEP 02- Download AMIE online application from website.
STEP 03- Fill in application form.
STEP 04-Choose examination center and note code of exam center
STEP 05- Draw a DD as exam fee in favor “The Institution of Engineers India” payable at Kolkata.
STEP 06- Fill in details of DD.
STEP 07- Make copies of the application form and the demand draft.
STEP 08- Application form along with demand draft must be sent to

Application Fee /Registration Fee: The application fee for AMIE exam for candidates taking the test in India is Rs 2,000 (rupees two thousand only). The application fee for candidates taking the test outside India is US 150 (US dollar one hundred and fifty only).

AMIE Procedure for calculating percentage of marks: 

AMIE procedure for calculating percentage of marks is based on summation of maximum marks in the range of respective letter grades of each subject and dividing the number of subjects including project work and laboratory experiments.
