Panjab University B.Ed (Correspondence) Admission 2014 | Fees | Syllabus

Panjab University offers B.Ed Admission through correspondence for in-service teachers. Run by the Open School of Learning of the university this programme is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The duration of the course is two years with an intake capacity of 800 students.Candidates wishing to apply for this course are required to do so online on usolbed.puchd.ac.in.Please note that application sent through any other mode would not be considered.

Eligibility:-

 A. Teaching Experience

i For 500 seats: (for Punjab & Chandigarh)
"The candidate should be 'teacher' serving in a recognized school/+2 level institution (College) located in the State of Punjab and U.T., Chandigarh and having two years teaching experience** as on 30th April 2013 shall be eligible for admission to B.Ed. Course."

ii For 300 seats: (for all India including Punjab & Chandigarh)
The candidate should be a ‘teacher’ serving in a recognized school/ +2 level institution (College)* located all over India including the State of Punjab and U.T., Chandigarh and having two years teaching experience.

College teachers are not eligible; however, teachers having experience / teaching +1/ +2 classes in colleges are eligible.

Two years teaching experience should be irrespective of the nature of job: regular/ad-hoc/contractual basis

Educational qualifications for admission

i. Bachelor’s degree of this university or any other recognized university with at least 50 per cent marks in aggregate, provided the candidate has offered at least two school subjects at the first degree level.
OR
ii. M.A. or M.Sc. or M.Sc. (Hons. School) or M.Com. degree of this university or any other recognised university with a minimum of 50 per cent marks in aggregate, with combination of at least two school subjects at the first degree and postgraduate degree level.
OR
iii. B.A. degree of the University through modern Indian Languages and English only examinations, in which case the aggregate of 50 per cent marks shall be calculated by taking into account the marks obtained in English and the elective subjects taken together.
OR
iv. Any other qualification recognised as equivalent to (i), (ii) or (iii) above.

 

Panjab University B.Ed (Correspondence) Fee:


The total fee for

B.Ed. (First year) is approximately Rs.20000/- that may be deposited in two installments.

The first installment of fee (Rs 11000/-)  shall be deposited by the candidate on the spot at the time of admission on the day of counselling, failing which the seat will be given to the next candidate on merit.

The fee may be deposited in cash at Cash Counter at USOL, at the time of counselling after getting the admission slip from the 'Admission Committee' there.

The second installment of fee of B.Ed.-I should be deposited before 16 th January 2014 by cash/demand draft. Candidates are advised to show the receipt of fee deposited in the deptt. in room No. 107 to avoid any difficulty related to examination etc. at later stage.Approximately same fee will be charged from the candidates during B.Ed. second year (with annual 5% increase as per P.U. rule).
