Madras University MCom Admission 2014 | Fees | Syllabus

M.Com is a two year full time post graduate programme consisting of four semesters. This is undoubtedly one of the most popular courses of postgraduate study in the state. Admission to M.Com Course offered by the university is done through a common entrance test.

Eligibility:-

Candidate looking to apply in this program must have anyone of the following bachelor’s degree: -B. Com. / B.B.A. / B.B.M. / B.A.Corporate Secretary ship / B.A. Cooperation / B.A. Business Economics / B. Sc Mathematics with Accountancy and Costing or Banking as Allied / Ancillary subjects or B.Sc. Statistics or B.Sc. Computer Science.

Madras University MCom Admissions Procedure:


Admission in this university is done on the basis of academic qualification as well as merit in the qualifying examination. The criteria for mark selection is as follows

• Qualifying examination – 50 marks
• Entrance Exam- 40 marks ( 50 per cent weighting of total marks in entrance exam).
• Interview Marks- 10 marks

Paper Pattern for Common Entrance Test

Total Marks- 80

Total Duration- 2 hours

Part I- 60 Multiple Choice Questions on current affairs related to commerce (60 marks)

Part II- 2 questions each of 100 words for Contemproary Trends in  Business and Business Research.

Negative Marking- Please note that there is no negative marking

Application Procedure:-

Candidates must collect the application form from the university office in person at a cost of Rs. 300. This form is to be duly filled and submitted at the university office attested with the required documents mentioned on it. Candidates must read the prospectus carefully before filling up the application form.
