Alagappa University was brought into existence in the year 1985 by a Special Act of the Government of Tamil Nadu with the objective of fostering research, development and dissemination of knowledge in various branches of learning.

How to apply:-
• Students can apply to Alagappa University by downloading the admission form from the official website of the university or one can collect the prospectus cum application form from the university campus itself.
• All the documents, admission fees and form must be submitted by the applicants in the admin office on or before the last date.
• Registration fees may vary for each course chosen.
Mode of Payment:-
Students can pay the registration as well as course fees through Demand Draft in favour of "The Director, DDE, Alagappa University", payable on any bank at Karaikudi.

Criteria for Admissions:-
• The original entry qualification of HSC/ Diploma Certificate or Degree or Provisional Certificate and a copy attested by the Gazetted Officer must be submitted during the time of admission.
• All the eligibility rules fixed for each of the programmes must be tracked by the aspirants applying for it.
• For any of the courses offered in the university, students will be appointed on the basis of their marks obtained in the previous years.

Rumble over an area of 430 acres of green land lies the campus of Alagappa University which is situate in the heritage city of Tamil Nadu i.e., Karaikudi.
