About:-

The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) is India's national institute for the study and development of space science, located at Valiamala started in the year 2007 by G. Madhavan Nair. IIST is sponsored by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) under the Department of Space, Government of India.

IIST Thiruvananthapuram Admissions 2014:

Here students may find the admission procedure followed for different courses offered by the university.

How to apply:-

• Students can apply to University by collecting the prospectus cum application form from the university campus itself.
• At the time of admission students are asked to submit all their educational certificates with the form and also the registration fees in the admin office.

Criteria for Admissions:-

• Candidates with merit marks will only be selected for the courses provided in the university.
• The original entry qualification of HSC/ Diploma Certificate or Degree or Provisional Certificate and a copy attested must be submitted during the time of admission.
• In any of the circumstances, the eligibility rules specified by the university will not be relaxed and candidates need to follow them.


Campus:-

The campus is Wi-Fi enabled and uniquely architected infrastructure which includes college building, auditorium, separate hostels for girls and boys, staff quarters, library, laboratories, sports complex, etc which would help students to study in an academic environment.

Special Features:-

• Being a specialized institution under the Department of Space, IIST does not participate in any rankings by private organizations.
• IIST has a small observatory on campus equipped with a 8 inch Newtonian telescope.
• It has collaborations with Universities Space Research Association and CALTECH.
