About:-
Kannur University was founded in the year 1996 to provide development of higher education in Kannur. It was established after the passing of Act No. 22 of 1996 of the Kerala Legislative Assembly. It is a multi-campus university, at Kannur, Kasargod, Mananthavady, Payyannur, Thalassery, and Kanhangad.

University's infrastructure is one of the best in town which includes a Wi-Fi equipped library, air-conditioned classrooms, a gymnasium, gymkhana and a conference room. Laboratories are maintained upto the mark, well equipped library, canteen; hostel for boys and girls etc is also available.
