Tezpur University is an Indian Central University in Tezpur in the state of Assam founded in the year 1994. The University strives to offer employment oriented and inter-disciplinary courses, mostly, at postgraduate level to meet local, regional aspirations and development needs of the State of Assam.

Criteria for Admissions:-
• Students will be selected for any of the courses only on the basis of merit marks.
• Along with the merit marks, university will also follow the eligibility criteria set for each of the courses offered by them.
• The original entry qualification of HSC/ Diploma Certificate or Degree or Provisional Certificate and a copy attested must be submitted during the time of admission.

Campus:-
The university campus is at Napaam in a plot of an area of 262 acres of land bounded by pucca walls. The campus includes academic building, auditorium, separate hostels for girls and boys, staff quarters, library, laboratories, sports complex, etc which would help students to study in an academic environment.
Special Features:-
• University is the first university in India to offer the course, Master of Technology in Computational Seismology and also one of the few universities in India to have its own Department of Energy.
• Placement Services for the students of the university in a collective and organized way have started recently but have earned limited success.
