MPSC State Services Exam 2014 Dates | Notification | Pattern

MPSC State Civil Services Examination differs from other MPSC exams. This assessment is a combined government entrance exam conducted for recruitment to various officer posts in Maharashtra state services. This examination covers different posts in various government offices in the state of Maharashtra. MSPC Rajyaseva pariksha as it is also known covers vacancies in Class I, Class II and Class III of the Maharashtra State Services.

Apply online for preliminary exam on website :- www.mahaonline.gov.in from 17/12/2013 to 05/01/2014

Preliminary Exam Date:- 2nd February 2014

Main Exam Date:- 30th, 31st May and 1st June 2014

Eligibility Criteria for MPSC State Civil Services Exam

• Age: The age limit for aspirants is as follows

e) Minimum age=  19 years
f) Maximum age= 33 years

• Age Relaxations: Age relaxation is as per the rules of the Government of Maharashtra.

1. Handicapped candidates=45 years
2. OBC candidates=35 years
3. SC/ST/NT candidates=38 years

• Educational Qualification:

i. Graduation in any discipline from recognized university.
ii. Good command over Marathi which is the local language of the state.

MPSC State Civil Services Exam structure is as follows

i) Preliminary Examination
ii) Main/ Written Examination
iii) Interview/ Personality test

Candidates are required to clear each stage of recruitment in order to be eligible for the above mentioned posts in Maharashtra State Civil Services.

How to apply for MPSC State Civil Services Examination

STEP 1    Visit MPSC official website.
STEP 2    If you are new user you are required to register.
STEP 3    On successful completion of registration you will receive Log ID and password.
STEP 4    Login into MPSC website using ID and password.
STEP 5    Fill in necessary details in your user profile.
STEP 6    Look up for MPSC Clerk Exam notification.
STEP 7    Click on the link MPSC Clerk exam online application.
STEP 8    Fill in exam details and select exam center
STEP 9    Note examination ID.
STEP 10    Take a printout of application form along with payment challan.
STEP 11    Make payment of application fee at SBI using payment challan.
STEP 12    Note transaction ID and date of transaction.
STEP 13    Login using your user ID and password
STEP 14    Enter transaction ID in online application form to complete application process.

MPSC State Services Exam Paper Pattern:


Paper I - (200 marks)

(1) Current events of state, national and international importance.
(2) History of India (with special reference to Maharashtra) and Indian National Movement.
(3) Maharashtra, India and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of Maharashtra, India and the World.
(4) Maharashtra and India - Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Urban Governance, Public Policy, Rights issues, etc.
(5) Economic and Social Development - Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.
(6) General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change-that do not require subject specialization.
(7) General Science.

Paper II - (200 marks)

1) Comprehension   
2) Interpersonal skills including communication skills.
3) Logical reasoning and analytical ability.
4) Decision - making and problem - solving.
5) General mental ability.
6) Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation(Charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc.- Class X level)
7) Marathi and English Language Comprehension skills (Class X/XII level).

Important Instructions:-

• Questions relating to Marathi and English Language Comprehension skill of Class X/XII level
• (Paper II) will be presented through passages from Marathi and English language without providing cross translation.
• Questions will be of both multiple choice and objective type.
• It is mandatory for the candidate to appear in both the Papers of State Services (Prelim) Examination for the purpose of evaluation. Therefore a candidate will be disqualified in case he / she does not appear in both the papers of State Services (Prelim) Examination.
