Indian Coast Guard Navik (General Duty) 10 + 2 Entry Recruitment 2014 Notification, Application Procedure

Indian Coast Guard offers class 12 aspirants in science stream an opportunity of joining the force as Navik (General Duty) on 10+2 Entry Recruitment.Applications are anticipated from  intrested and eligible candidates fulfilling the required eligiblity criteria. Candidates can apply between January 22-29, 2014. Selected candidates will receive basic training at INS Chilka followed by sea and professional training in allotted trade.

Grade pay: Scale Rs 5200 –20200 alongwith Rs 2000 Grade Pay

Educational Qualification: 10+2 in science stream with subjects of Physics and Maths with total aggregate of 60 percent marks and minimum 60 percent marks in each subject.

Relaxation in aggregate: SC/ST candidates, sportsperson of national level, and children of Coast Guard uniformed personnel deceased while in service will be granted 5 percent relaxation in minimum percentage.

Age: Candidates aged between 18 and 22 years of age (ie born between 01 August 1992 and 31 July 1996).

Age Relaxation: Upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Step by step procedure for applying for Indian Coast Guard Navik (General Duty) 10 + 2 Entry Recruitment

STEP 01: Log on to  www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in  and click on opportunities button.
STEP 02:Select the advertisement for Recruitment of Naviks (10+2 Entry) 02/2014 Batch.
STEP 03:Select the post applied for- Navik General Duty.
STEP 04: Click on I agree button and online application form will be displayed
STEP 05: Proceed to fill up the application (All Star (*) marked entries are compulsory and to be filled)
STEP 06: Check through details carefully before submitting online application form.
STEP 07: On successful completion of application you will  registration number.
STEP 08: Take two printouts of the filled in online application form and sign and affix photograph on both forms.
STEP 09: One copy needs with photocopies should be submitted at recruitment center on the date of the exam.
STEP 10: Second copy is to be kept as identity proof for recruitment.

List of Documents:-

Original certificate of tenth class for date of birth verification.
Original mark sheet and certificates of 12th class.
Proof of identity such as passport, driving license, Aadhar card/ voter I card, School/ college ID card or any other photo identity proof.
Caste Certificate (if applicable) in original as per Govt of India format.
Ten recent colour passport size photographs.

Selection Procedure:Selection procedure would consists of the following

Written Examination
Physical Efficiency Test
Medical examination

Written Examination: This objective type, which will generally cover subjects such as Maths, Physics, basic Chemistry, knowledge of English upto 12th standard, general knowledge, current affairs, quantitative aptitude and reasoning.

Physical Efficiency Test: PFT will be conducted for those who qualify written test. Physical Efficiency test consists of

* 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes.
* 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak)
* 10 Push ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.

Medical Examination: Medical examination will be conducted by authorised military doctor as per medical standard prescribed by the board.

Basic medical parameters:-

Height:157 cms (minimum)
Chest: Should be well proportioned (minimum expansion of 5 cm)
Proportionate to height and age +10% acceptable.
Hearing: Normal
Vision: 6/6 (Better Eye) and 6/9(Worse Eye) (Candidates using glasses are not eligible)
