Indian Coast Guard welcomes online job applications from interested and eligible male and female candidates for recruitment to the post of Group 'A' Gazetted Officer in the rank of Assistant Commandant for 01/2015 branch. The training for the same is said to commence in December 2014/January 2015. The selection procedure for the post of Assistant Commandant in Indian Coast Guard consists of preliminary selection (Tests for cognitive and mental aptitude) final selection (psychological test, group task and interview) and medical examination.

(a) General Duty
•General: Male
•Age: 01 July 1990 to 30 June 1994 (both days) inclusive
(b) General Duty (Pilot, Navigator and Observer)
•General: Male
•Age: 01 July 1990 to 30 June 1996 (both days) inclusive
•Educational Qualification:
i) Bachelors degree of a recognized university with minimum 60 percent marks in aggregate
ii) Maths and Physics as subjects upto intermediate or Class 12 of 10+2+3 scheme with minimum 60 percent marks in aggregate of
both subjects.
(c) Technical branch (Mechanical and Electrical)
•General: Male
• Age:01 July 1990 to 30 June 1994 (both days) inclusive
• Educational Qualification:
i) Engineering degree with minimum 60 percent marks in aggregate
ii) Should have also passed Section A and B exam from the Institution of Engineers with minimum 60 percent marks in mentioned
electrical or engineering streams.
iii) 60 percent marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics in Class 12
or Three years diploma course with an aggregate of 60 percent marks.
Short Service Appointments: Short Service Appointments as Assistant Commandants for a period of 8 years which may be extendable
to 10 years and further extendable to 14 years.
(d) Pilots (Helicopter and Fixed Wing) Commercial Pilot Licence holders
• General: Male and Female
• Age: 01 July 1990 to 30 June 1996 (both days) inclusive
• Educational Qualification: Class 12 with minimum 60 percent marks in aggregate and should posses a current or valid Commercial
Pilot's Licence (CPL) approved by the DGCA on the date of preliminary selection.
(e) General Duty (Female)
• General: Female
• Age: 01 July 1990 to 30 June 1994 (both days) inclusive
• Educational Qualification:
i) Bachelors degree of a recognized university with minimum 60 percent marks in aggregate.
ii) Maths and Physics as subjects upto intermediate or Class 12 of 10+2+3 scheme with minimum 60 percent marks in aggregate of
both subjects.
Physical Standards:
Assistant Commandant GD and Technical: (minimum) 157 cms (reduction in height for individuals belonging to hilly region and tribal
areas)
Assistant Commandant (General Duty) Women: 152.5 cms (minimum)
Assistant Commandant (Pilot) and Commercial Pilot Licence holders (Men and Women )
Minimum:162.5 cms
Maximum:197 cms
Leg length: 99 cms
Weight: proportionate to height and weight
Chest: proportionate, minimum expansion of 5 cms.
Eyesight:
• Assistant Commandant (GD) and Assistant Commandant (GD) [Women]: 6/6 and 6/9 uncorrected without glasses and 6/6 6/6
corrected with glasses.
• Assistant Commandant (GD) (P/N) and CPL Holders (SSA): 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in the other correctable to 6/6.
• Assistant Commandant (Tech)
6/36 6/36: Uncorrected without glasses.
6/6 6/6: Corrected with glasses.
