CS Exam 2014 Exam Dates | Notification | Pattern
A Company Secretary invariably assumes the role of a corporate specialist, a go-to person in the world of corporate affairs. A career as company secretary comes with the best prospects of job satisfaction that include both financial and career oriented growth. This course is apt for individuals who are gifted with interpersonal skills having a knack for communication and with a strong base in educational expertise. Institute of Company Secretaries of India conducts this exam. The exam consists of three stages
• Foundation
• Executive
• Professional
The Foundation courses forms the base of preparations. The CS exam is conducted twice a year once in the months of June and December respectively.
CS Foundation Exam dates:
• Morning Session: 10.00 A.M. to 11.30 A.M. (90 minutes)
Part - 1: Subjects - Business Environment and Entrepreneurship (50 questions and 100 marks)
Part - 2: Subjects - Business Management, Ethics and Communication (50 questions and 100 marks)
• After-Noon Session: 1.30 P.M. to 3.00 P.M. (90 minutes)
Part - 3: Subjects - Business Economics (50 questions and 100 marks)
Part - 4: Subjects - Fundamentals of Accounting and Auditing (50 questions and 100 marks)
Eligibility: -
• Foundation Programme: Candidates who have completed their Class 12 (senior secondary education) from recognized university are eligible to apply. Provisional registration is allowed for class 12 students who are awaiting their results.
• Executive Programme: Graduation in any stream other than fine arts.
• Professional Programme: Candidates who clear the executive programme of this course are eligible to apply for CS professional exam.
Exemption from CS Foundation Exam: Candidates who have completed their CA CPT or have completed CMA Foundations Exam or with a Masters degree in any discipline other than Fine Arts are exempted from appearing for CS Foundation Exam.
Duration of Foundation Programme: The duration of the course is 8 months, excluding the months of admission and the examination. Foundation Programme students are required to pass the Foundation examination within 3 years from the date of their admission.
How to Apply:
ICSI has announced a complete switch over to online registration for the Company Secretaries Course from January 01, 2014.Students
are required to register online at www.icsi.edu. You are required to use ICSI online services and register online.
Following are steps for online registration.
STEP 1 Click on the “Online Services” button on the top of ICSI website. (www.icsi.edu)
STEP 2 Go to the students tab and click on “Student Registration”
STEP 3 Click on checklist of documents as applicable to students on the basis of qualification.
STEP 4 Click on the link “Proceed to registration”
STEP 5 Select the course type ie. Foundation or Executive Programme etc.
STEP 6 Fill details.
STEP 7 Make payment of application fee (Payment is to be made either by credit/debit card/net banking facility or through bank challan system).
STEP 8 You will receive username and student registration number.
STEP 9 Upload scanned copies of documents in support of educational qualification in respective formats in “MY ACCOUNTS” to
complete online registration.
Important instructions to be followed for upload of documents:
•File format should be jpg,jpeg, png,gif,bmp.
•File size of documents should not exceed 5 MB.
•Size of photo should be between 20KB and 50KB
•Student signature should be between 10KB and 20KB.
