Salient features of the exam:-
•This is also the only professional exam in the country whose scores are deemed valid for a period of seven years from the date of declaration of results in all categories.
•There is no restriction on the number of attempts for CTET certificate. Applicants may appear again in a bid to improve scores.
CTET 2014 Important Dates:
1.Date of publication of advertisement- 11th October 2013 (Friday)
2.Start date for online application- 11 th October 2013 (Friday)
3.Last date for online application- 30th October 2013 (Wednesday)
4.Last date for submission of online confirmation page- 07th November 2013 (Thursday)
5.Exam date-16th February 2014 (Sunday)
Schools under CTET:
The following is a generalized list of schools under CTET
- KVS, NVS and Tibetan Schools (Central Government Schools) under the administrative control of the UT of NCT New Delhi, Chandigarh, Andaman and Nicobar islands, Daman & Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
- Unaided private schools
- Schools owned and managed by the State government or local bodies
- Schools in states where CTET or a state level teacher eligibility test (TET) is not conducted.
Eligibility for CTET 2014:
•Eligibility for aspirants wishing to teach classes I to IV
Senior Secondary/intermediate pass pursuing or completed two year diploma program in elementary education.
•Aggregate- Minimum 50 percent marks.
Eligibility for aspirants wishing to teach classes V to VIII
Graduation in any discipline pursuing or completed a two year diploma program in elementary education.
•Aggregate- Minimum aggregate of 50 percent marks.
•Age-Applicants aged between 18 to 40 years of age are eligible to apply.
•Relaxation in age- As per government rules.
How to apply:-
Listed below is a Step by Step Guide for applying for CTET 2014
•STEP 01- Log on to CTET official website.
•STEP 02- Fill in the details of CTET online application form
•STEP 03- Check through the form carefully and edit changes
•STEP 04-On successful submission of the form a confirmation page with registration number will be generated.
•STEP 05-Take two printouts of this page.
•STEP 06- Keep one for reference. The other needs to be sent by post.
•STEP 07- Paste recent passport sized photograph on the form to be sent.
•STEP 08- Payment of fee for the exam can be done either through challan or debit or credit card.
•STEP 09-The confirmation page with pasted photograph and relevant documents need to be sent either by registered or ordinary post to address mentioned.

Apart from this CBSE has also set up Facilitation Centers for the purpose of submission of online application form. Candidates can utilize this facility free of charge between 10:00 am to 02:00 pm on all working days.

CTET application/registration fee:
CTET application/registration fee payable by candidates is as follows
General and OBC candidates
•For one paper- Rs 500/-
•For both papers- Rs 800/-
SC/ST and differently abled candidates
•For one paper- Rs 250/-
•For both papers- Rs 400/-

CTET Paper Pattern:
•Paper type- Multiple choice questions (MCQ’s)
•Number of Papers- 2
•Candidates wishing to teach in both primary and elementary classes are required to appear for both Paper I and Paper II.
•Marking- one mark for every correct.
•Please note there is no negative marking for the exam.
Number of Students Appeared and Results:
9,00, 000 (nine lakh) candidates appeared for CTET 2013 conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education on 28th July 2013. The CTET 2013 result was record breaking as a total of 11 percent of candidates who appeared, cleared the test. Following is the pass percentage of the last two years
