About IPS 2015 Exam:
The Indian Police Services (IPS) is the law and order mechanism of the country. The force is an important pillar of our democracy tasked with security and safeguard of the country. An IPS Job is not just a mundane employment opportunity but high position in the civil services commanding respect and admiration. An IPS position brings with opportunities and even greater responsibilities. This IPS exam is invariably a dream of lakhs of aspirants however similar to IAS a select few applicants make the cut in the selection procedure conducted for admission to IPS.
Did you know: IPS and IAS aspirants go through the same Civil Services Apptitude (CSAT). The main papers for both these services is stream specific.
The Civil Services Examination is conducted in three stages
· STAGE 01: Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT)
· STAGE 02: Civil Services Main Exam
· STAGE 03: Personality Test (interview)
· STAGE 04: Physical Test
· STAGE 05: Medical Examination

CIVIL SERVICES (MAIN) EXAM 2015:-
DATE OF COMMENCEMENT OF EXAM:- 18.12.2015 (FRIDAY)
DURATION OF EXAM:- 5 DAYS
Eligibility:-
· Nationality: Indian Citizen. (PIO) Persons of Indian origin migrated to the country are also eligible to apply.
· Educational Qualification: Graduation in any stream from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Final year students who get their degree before July of the same year are also eligible to apply.
· Aggregate: Minimum 50 percent
· Age:-
a) Minimum age: 21 years
b) Maximum age: 30 years
Relaxations in age:
a. SC/ST candidates: 35 years
b. OBC candidates: 33 years
c. Ex-servicemen: 5 year exemption in upper age limit.
Number of Attempts:
i. General category candidates: 04 attempts
ii. OBC candidates: 07 attempts
iii. SC/ST: No limit on attempts till the age of 35.
Physical Standard
Height - Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) - 160 cm
Female - 150 cm Pahari Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm
Chest - Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm.
· Eye sight - 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.
· Blood pressure (High) - Age 23 - 123, age 24 - 124, age 25 -122, age 28 - 124, age 30 -125, age 32 - 126, age 34 - 127.
· Ear- good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment shd not be more than 30 decibels.
· Speech- Should not stammer while speaking.
How to Apply:-
Candidates have the option of applying online as well as offline for the IPS Exam 2015 . Following is a step by step procedure for IAS exam registration.
Online Mode:
· STEP 01: Log on to UPSC online application website for various exams http://upsconline.nic.in/index.php
· STEP 02: Create a Login ID in case you are a new user.
· STEP 03: Click on Online Recruitment Application (ORA) link for IAS Exam.
· STEP 04: Next Click on Apply Online Link.
· STEP 05: Log into account with user name and password.
· STEP 06: Registration for the Exam consists of two parts i.e. PART-I and PART-II
· STEP 07: Fill in necessary details and upload passport sized photograph and signature.
· STEP 08: Payment of Application Fee (this is important to proceed to the next stage of registration.
· STEP 09: Click on Preview to view application and edit changes before final submission.
· STEP 10: Note registration number obtained at the successful completion of online registration.
Offline Mode:-
· STEP 1- Obtain application form from any of specified posts/head offices in the country. (the list for the same is published in Employment News) on cash payment of Rs 20/-.
· STEP 2- Pay application fee.
· STEP 3- Fill in details in IPS application form (Please note that each form can be used only once).
· STEP 4- Send the completed application form along with relevant documents to the address mentioned in the notification before the last date for receipt of application.
Application and Registration Fee:-

· The Application fee for IPS Preliminary Exam is Rs 100/-.
· The Application fee for IPS Main Exam is Rs 200/-.
· The Application fee for SC/ST/women candidates is Rs 50/-.
Application fee for the IPS Exam can be paid through any one of the following modes:
· Payment through payment slip generated by the Online Recruitment Application System. This can done in any branch of the State of India.
· Payment through online banking facility (State Bank of India or list of associate banks)
· Payment through credit/debit card facility.
· Papers- Two (Prelims and Mains)
· Preliminary Exam Paper- Consists of Two Papers
