The Guru Jambheshwar University was started in the year 1995 by an Act of the Legislature of the State of Haryana. It offers a wide range of academic programmes and courses at post-graduate and undergraduate level.

Criteria for Admissions:-
•Admission will be done strictly on the merit basis of the GPAT/ GATE Entrance Test.
• The original entry qualification of HSC/ Diploma Certificate or Degree or Provisional Certificate and a copy attested must be submitted during the time of admission.
• Eligibility rules as specified for each course shall be strictly followed and shall not be relaxed under any circumstance.

University campus ramble over an area of 372 acres hosts, air-conditioned lecture halls, faculty and administrative blocks, a state-of-the-art computer centre and one of the best management libraries of the country. It also has residential accommodation for academic and administrative staff. A sports complex, Gymnasium, Recreation Room, T.V. Lounge and Canteen are some of the other facilities provided on campus. Facilities like ISD / STD Telephone, Fax, E-mail, Internet and Medical aid are also available on the campus.

• The University has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), in 2002 as grade 'A'.
• The university switched to a credit-based system for all courses in 2006-07.
