Currently SAIL Bhilai has 330 vacancies for the post of Operator cum Technician (Trainee).These openings are in disciplines of Metallurgy(58 Posts), Electrical (25 Posts), Mechanical/Mechtronics (167 Posts), Computer Science/IT (05 Posts), Electronics (65 Posts), Instrumentation (10 Posts).

Academic aptitude-
The age limit for the appearing candidate is 18 years (minimum) and 28 years (maximum). The candidate must also have a full time three year diploma from the field in which they he/she wants to apply for. In case if you are appearing or have appeared for final examination, then you should have with you mark sheets of all the previous exams that you have passed. These mark sheets need to be with you at the time of interview.
Process of applying:
1. Before you start filling up the form you must have with you a valid email ID, a scanned copy of your passport size photograph and your signature.
2. Visit SAIL official website. www.sail.co.in
3. Click on Careers.
4. On the left hand side of the page there is “Current openings with us” section. Click on it. Under it, click on BSP option.
5. It will display all the current opening at BSP. Under it, click on Operator cum Technician (Trainee).
6. Fill in the form with required details.
7. Once you have correctly filled the entire form; click submit.
8. After successful registration you will be given a system generated registration slip. This slip will consist of your unique registration number and rest of the other necessary details.
9. Download this system generated registration slip.
10. If you are a PwD or a ESM candidate then you should send your PwD/ESM certificate and the registration slip to the following address:
Post Box-16, Sector – 01 Post Office, Bhilai – 490001.
11. Make sure you send this only through ordinary mail.
Exam Fee:
· The exam fee for the candidates from General or OBC category is Rs.250 while for the SC/ST/PwD/departmental candidates the fee is Rs.50.
· This fee has to be paid using “pay-in-slip” obtainable from the Application Registration Portal.
· The candidate must pay this fee at the Sector 1 branch of State Bank of India in Bhilai. The fee has to be paid on behalf of BSP, SAIL.

Procedure for Selection: The procedure for selection consists of written test and interview.
