Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur (BESU), founded in the year 1856 at Howrah, is a premier engineering and state funded public university in India. The university offers Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degrees.

How to apply:-
• Students can apply to University by downloading the admission form from the official website of the university or one can collect the prospectus cum application form from the university campus itself.
• Along with the form, students also have to submit the certificates asked by the university and the registration fees at the time of admission.

Criteria for Admissions:-
• Admission in the university is concluded on the merit marks of the candidates.
• The original entry qualification of HSC/ Diploma Certificate or Degree or Provisional Certificate and a copy attested must be submitted during the time of admission.
• In any of the circumstances, the eligibility rules specified by the university will not be relaxed and candidates need to follow them.
Campus:-
Institute has its spacious campus and an excellent state of art infrastructure consisting of air conditioned classroom, library, tutorial rooms, laboratories, drawing hall, computer centre, workshop, gymkhana, placement cell and seminar hall.
Special Features:-
• B.E.College is the fourth engineering college to be established in India and is the second oldest Engineering College in India after Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee considering the first batch of graduation from a college.
• BESU was ranked "10 th among all engineering institutions in India" by "India Today" in the year 2005.
• It also topped the list of the institutions eligible for conversion to IIEST.
