Sambalpur University came into existence in the year 1967 is located in Odisha offers courses at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels. It is a designated 'Manuscript Conservation Centre' (MCC) under the National Mission for Manuscripts established in 2003.

• Eligibility rules as specified for each course shall be strictly followed and shall not be relaxed under any circumstance.

Campus:-
Sambalpur University is located at Burla and is surrounded by dense forest and hills. There are ten postgraduate hostels in the university campus out of which four are girl’s hostels and six are boy’s hostels. The university provides several facilities such as common room with television, reading room with newspaper and magazine, guest room, first aid, STD telephone booth, central canteen, two nationalized banks, post-office, health center, auditorium, police-out post, faculty house and community center.
