BHU PhD Admission Admission 2014-15 Notification | Entrance Exam Date | Eligibility |
Banaras Hindu University PhD Admission is conducted for PhD degree, Integrated PhD and M.Phil Degree and M Phil degree. Selection for these programmes is done through RET (Research Entrance Test). Candidates with qualified GATE/SLET/NET score and those with research fellowships awarded by statutory government institutions are exempted from appearing for this test.
PhD programmes are offered by the following faculties of Banaras Hindu University
1.Faculty of Agriculture
2.Faculty of Arts
3.Faculty of Performing Arts
4.Faculty of Social Sciences
5.Sanskrit Vidya Dharma Vidyan
6.Science
7.Medicine
8.Ayurveda
9.Dental Sciences
Master's or M.Phil degree in the concerned subject with an aggregate of 55 percent marks or equivalent grade point average in the qualifying examination.
Candidates wishing to apply for BHU PhD Admission are required to appear for Research Entrance Test (RET) conducted by the university.
A candidate who fulfils one of the following requirements may be considered for direct admission to the
Ph.D./Integrated M.Phil-Ph.D. programme without appearing in the RET:-
(i)A candidate who is qualified in a national level test such as National Eligibility Test (NET-JRF), NET-LS(without fellowship), Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE), State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) accredited by UGC, Central or State Government
