For a Phd aspirant there is no other better prospect than to complete a research degree from an IIT in India. IIT PhD Admission is accepted all throughout the year but are processed twice a year ie Autum Semester (July) and Spring Semester (January). The objective of IIT PhD programmes is to enable learners and researchers to make use of the best opportunities to study exciting areas of scientific research. PhD aspirants from diverse academic disciplines are encouraged to take up cutting edge technological research that offers something original to the world of knowledge. IIT PhD Admission is done on the basis of valid GATE/CEED score or fellowship or related work experience in the field.
Master’s degree in Science or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology or equivalent, with First class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST). For admission in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences and in the Industrial Design Centre, the percentage requirement is 55% marks or equivalent (50% for SC/ST). Candidates meeting this requirement must also fulfill ONE of the following additional requirements :
•Valid GATE/CEED Score
•CSIR/UGC/NBHM / DBT / DST Inspire Award or Fellowship.
•Minimum of 2 years of professional work experience, for Sponsored (SW) / Self Financed (SF) /Institute Staff (IS) category.
• Minimum 6 months project work experience in IIT Bombay, for Project Staff (PS) category
Selection will be based on Written Test and Interview.
